Digital Engagement

Digital Engagement may be defined as providing opportunities for using information and communication technologies (ICT), such as the internet, as means of making connections within and beyond a community.  Governments may use ICT as a way to communication, connect, consult and provide services to the community.

Some people may feel they are missing out on the economic, educational, cultural and creative benefits available online if they are not ‘digitally engaged’.

Digital Engagement programs work to provide opportunities for South Australians, particularly those from socially and economically disadvantaged groups, to access ICT.  These programs help those who have not had the opportunity to develop ICT awareness, skills and the confidence to safely and effectively take advantage of the virtually endless possibilities available online.
