Broadband Development Fund (BDF)
The Broadband Development Fund (BDF) is a fundamental component of the State Broadband Strategy for South Australia and is funded by the State Government. The BDF includes an allocation of up to $7 million over four years to fund approved broadband infrastructure projects. The fund was initially intended to run until 30 June 2008 but has recently been extended to 30 June 2009.

About the BDF
The purpose of the fund is to facilitate investment in broadband infrastructure, principally but not exclusively, in the last mile. It is primarily targeted at improved economic development outcomes and State strategic priorities, with flow-on benefits to the general community in both metropolitan and regional South Australia.
The Broadband Development Fund (BDF) has provided grant funds to a number of strategic broadband infrastructure projects. To date, a total of approximately $4.3 million in grants has been approved for a number of projects shown in the map below.
