Smart state

Computer recyclingSmart state is a South Australian Government initiative that provides refurbished state government computers to South Australian community organisations and State Government community programs. This program is not suitable for individuals seeking to purchase a refurbished computer.

Who is eligible?

South Australian State Government community programs, rural and disadvantaged schools, indigenous groups, charitable and benevolent organisations, non-government organisations which receive government funding, community focused non-profit groups and clubs, community education and self help organisations, public counseling and support services and any other organisation that can demonstrate a benefit to the community. To see if your organisation is eligible to apply please refer to the Smart State PC website.

Individuals, Businesses, Schools and educational institutions, as well as organisations that have Gaming Machine Licenses are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply. 

(This program is not suited to individuals seeking a refurbished computer).

What can I receive through the program?

Up to three PCs or laptops.

What will it cost me?

Computers are donated free of charge. You will need to pick up the computers from the Computer Recycling Scheme Warehouse, at Kilkenny.

How do I apply?

An application can be made online or via the post.  Applicants must complete an application form which is available on the Smart State PC Donation website. Please note: application forms are only available on the website during ‘rounds’ (there are approximately 5 rounds per annum).

What waiting time should I expect?

Waiting times vary.  Computers are donated three to four times per year.  Contact Smart State PC Donation for further information.

Is training and support available?

No.

How do I donate Hardware?

Not applicable.  Smart State only recycles South Australian Government computers.
