Computer recyclingITShare SA Incorporated (ITShareSA) is a not for profit organisation that provides low cost (if any cost) computer systems to disadvantaged members of the community (including individuals, Community Organisations and Non Government Organisations (NGO’s)).

Who is eligible?

Individuals on a low income who need a computer (and don't already have one) for an educational, vocational or community purpose and groups or organisations who provide a service or support within communities.  Community Organisations and NGO’s are welcome to apply for more than one computer, however, availability will determine the final number allocated.

What can I receive through the ITShare program?

Refurbished computers installed with free software (Ubuntu Linux) to enable recipients to do basic word processing and obtain Internet access.

A limited number of printers are available for Community Organisations and NGO’s.  Printers are not available to individuals, however, ITShareSA will provide information on where cheap printers may be purchased or where individuals can print documents. 

What will it cost me?

There is an initial $10 application fee which must be provided with the application.  Upon successful application an additional $10 handling fee is also required.

Computers are available for a small fee.  Please contact ITShareSA for further information on prices.

How do I apply?

Potential recipients must complete an application form available from the ITShare Website.  Applications must also include the $10 processing fee and evidence to support that the applicant is on a low income (for individuals) or a referral from a Government agency, a current financial statement and description of the purpose of your group or organisation (for Community Organisations and NGO’s).

Is training and support available?

Yes, ITShareSA can provide low cost delivery, setup and one–on-one training within the metropolitan region.  ITShareSA charges $15- $25 for delivery and setup and $25 a one hour one on one training session.  ITShareSA may be able to help with shipping to rural/regional areas, dependent upon volunteer availability and shipping availability.

ITShareSA offers free three months basic user training to all successful applicants (including telephone and drop-in support).  After the first three months fees and charges will apply - contact ITShareSA for further information on fees and charges.

How do I donate Hardware?

ITShare accepts donations of working computer hardware from individuals and the corporate sector.  For information on how to make a donation refer to the ITShare Website.
