Business to Community Recyclers
Business to Community Recyclers is a not for profit organisations that refurbishes and supplies cost-free or low-cost PC’s to local communities, as well as overseas communities identified by World Vision as communities in need.
Business to Community Recyclers is based in Victoria, however, the company is able to distribute computers to South Australia for an additional freight cost.
Who is eligible?
Individuals in possession of a current Australian Government benefit card (e.g. aged pensioner, unemployed, disability pension, etc) and charity and not for profit organisations.
What can I receive through the Business to Community Recyclers program?
Business to Community Recyclers have our full range of recycled products for sale including PC’s laptops, printers, keyboards, cables, modems and mouses. As a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher Business to Community Recyclers are able to offer Microsoft Windows 2000 software on the low cost PC’s.
What will it cost me?
A small fee is charged for recycled products, ranging from $75 for Internet and word processing capable machines to $20 for 17 inch monitors. Contact Business to Community Recyclers for current prices (based upon stock available).
Organisations that have little or no government funding can apply to Business to Community Recyclers to have PC’s gifted or offered at a further reduced rate. The Business to Community Recyclers advisory group makes the final decision on these applications. All applications are judged on their own merit.
How do I apply?
Charity or not for profit organisations can apply for gifted or further reduced PC’s via email, letter or Fax. The following documentation must be included in all applications:
- A copy of the Organisation’s Certificate of Incorporation;
- A copy of Organisation’s Constitution/Statement of Purpose which shows the Not for Profit Clause and the Winding Up Clause; and
- A letter of support from the organisation’s board or committee of management.
What waiting time should I expect?
In general Business to Community Recyclers will provide goods one to two weeks after a request has been received.
Is training and support available?
Business to Community Recyclers do not currently provide technical support or training to individuals or community organisations. Business to Community Recyclers is developing training to assist recipients off low cost computers to maintain a virus free computer. This training will be provided fee of charge.
How do I donate Hardware?
Not applicable for South Australian residents. Business to Community Recyclers is a Victorian based organisation.
