Recycling Scheme
ACS PC-Recyclers Special Interest Group is a not for profit group that provides low cost recycled computers to individuals on a low income and charity or a non-profit organisations.
Who is eligible?
Individuals on a low income, charity or not for profit organisation.
What can I receive through the program?
Standard refurbished computers with a minimum specification which includes 4gb hard drive storage space, 64mb memory, CD player, 15inch monitor, 56k internal modem, keyboard and mouse. An operating system and application software is also provided with each machine. Multiple computers can be provided to an applicant where there is a need.
What will it cost me?
Internet enabled computers (Pentium III) start at $50. Pentium IV computers are now more often available and start at $150. Laptops are available from time to time and are priced between $250 and $350 depending on their specifications. All computers come with either the Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP operating system.
Payment in full by cash or money order is required before a computer can be issued.

What waiting time should I expect?
The waiting time for a PC varies from 1 week to 1 month.
Is training and support available?
ACS will support all computers given to recipients in the event of breakdown or accidental damage to software installation indefinitely but within the available resources of people and equipment. They will re-install the standard software and replace broken hardware that has been provided when it is needed. The support is ultimately limited to replacing a computer with another similar computer.
How do I donate Hardware?
