Broadband in South Australia
The Information Economy Directorate drives and supports initiatives to promote the need for broadband access across South Australia, the benefits broadband has for South Australians and ensuring that the community has the knowedge and skills to utilise the technology.
Initiatives include:
- Broadband SA - a team designated to address broadband infrastructure, access and take up issues in SA
- The Broadband Development Fund - a fund allocated to support broadband infrastructure projects
- Regional Broadband Development - supporting four regionally-focussed Broadband Project Officers and a State Broadband Project Manager working with the Federal Government's Clever Networks Program and the State's Broadband SA program to facilitate new broadband infrastructure, the effective use of broadband and promote the take-up of broadband sevices in regional parts of South Australia.
- Broadband Information Workshops - designed to inform the community of the uses of broadband technology
